Over the past month, Republicans have been attacking President Obama and the Democratic Congress’ health care reform plans with outright lies about government takeovers and death panels. Congresswoman Lois Capps has long been a champion for health care reform and she will need all of the support she can get at her townhall meeting in Santa Barbara tomorrow evening.

Congresswoman Capps will be discussing the comprehensive health care reform legislation being considered by Congress and taking questions from the audience on Wednesday, September 2, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, located at 305 East Anapamu Street. This event is free and open to the public and seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Congresswoman Capps has stood up for us in the past and now it is our turn to stand up for her and give the support she needs to pass real comprehensive health care reform with a public option this year. RSVP on Facebook, we hope to see you there.

Textbooks4Change is a student-led organization enabling you to raise money for marriage equality in California. How does it work? You click a button at Textbooks4Change.com to buy textbooks on Textbooks.com, and approximately 6% of your purchase goes towards repealing Prop 8. All of the money raised goes to the Courage Campaign, a leader in California’s battle for marriage equality. You can help a great cause without paying a penny more than what you’d already spend.
